Support Service
Mentors’ Guideline
Support Service is a focused environment directed to academic society as senior undergraduate students or postgraduate students where they could be supervised in their disciplines by researchers, professionals and professors from around the globe.
1. Support Service is divided into three tracks:
- Graduation Projects Service, is directed to undergraduate senior students to help them in their graduation projects.
- Direct Study Support Service, is a service directed to students or those who are interested in a specific scientific subject who may face a difficult point in an topic far from their specialization to help them in deepening in a specific specialization.
- Postgraduate Research Support Service, is directed to postgraduate students who may face a difficult topic related to their research during their M.Sc. or Ph.D. journey.
Note: One mentor can join one or more tracks and supervise single or multiple mentees/students depending on his/her availability hours per week.
2. Mentor’s Requirements
- An academic Mentor should have a Master’s degree or higher and at least two scientific publications.
- A professional Mentor should have a practical experience in his/her discipline for more than four years.
- Good teaching skills, good communication skills, and good interaction with the students.
3. Mentor’s Duties
3.1. General Duties
- Enrich the mentees/students knowledge in both scientific disciplines.
- Be accessible during office hours for online communication (available 1-2 hours/week for each mentee or group of students.)
- Set up general mentorship regulations in collaboration with your mentees/students.
- Collaborate with the coordinator (from Egypt Scholars Inc) to facilitate you mission.
- Fill in the required feedback forms:
- Adaptation feedback form (after the first/orientation meeting with the mentees/students to confirm start supervise them). Time to fill: 50 seconds.
- Check-in feedback forms (every two or three weeks) Time to fill: 30 seconds.
- Final feedback form (at the end of the mentorship period) Time to fill: 2~5 Minutes.
Note:The Coordinator is a volunteer in Egypt Scholars Support Service Team.
3.2. Duties for Graduation Project Support Service
– Oversee the function of the project and guide the team to achieve its goals.
– Evaluate the project process and ideas and enrich the scientific learning environment.
3.3. Duties for Direct Study Support Service
– Prepare helpful scientific materials which will be used in webinars.
– Deepen the understanding of the mentees about their scientific topic.
3.4. Duties for Postgraduate Research Support Service
– Elucidate some scientific difficulties students may face during the academic courses or thesis work.
